  Francisco Fortuny Masagué (1864-1942) fue un destacado ilustrador español, activo en Buenos Aires durante la primera mitad de siglo XX, cuya interesante carrera ha sido estudiada solo de forma parcial. Este artículo pretende reunir la bibliografía publicada en torno al artista, así como corregir algunas imprecisiones y aportar nuevos datos relacionados con su trayectoria personal y profesional, con el objetivo de facilitar la interpretación global de su aportación a las artes gráficas en Argentina, en un momento de especial desarrollo del medio.

  Francisco Fortuny Masagué (1864-1942) was an important Spanish artist, active in Buenos Aires during the first half of the 20th century, although his oeuvre has been only partially studied. This paper aims to collect and amend the existing information on the artist, but also to provide new biographic and professional data, in order to allow for a thorough interpretation of his contribution to the graphic arts in Argentina, during an especially interesting moment on its historical evolution.
