Resumen de Los memoriales: una fuente para el estudio de los conflictos agrarios colombianos en el tránsito del siglo XIX al XX

  Este artículo propone revisitar los memoriales como fuente para el estudio de las colonizaciones y conflictos agrarios durante el siglo xix y xx. Para tal fin, se considera que esta fuente no debe leerse únicamente como medio de denuncia ante el gobierno o autoridad judicial, sino más bien, como instrumento de acción política con alcances y limitaciones dadas por la estructura administrativa del Estado. Metodológicamente, el artículo se divide en tres partes: en la primera, se presentan los antecedentes y alcances jurídico-políticos de los memoriales para la sociedad del siglo xix y comienzos del xx; posteriormente, se caracterizan los documentos a partir de la descripción de su estructura interna, para lo cual se utilizan algunos casos identificados en el Archivo General de la Nación y archivos locales; y finalmente, se cierra con las conclusiones y proposiciones sobre cómo aprovechar los memoriales y los distintos retos de interpretación histórica dispuestos para quienes deseen estudiar los conflictos agrarios.

  This article aims to look at the 'memorials' as a source for the study of colonization and agrarian conflicts during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; thus, it considers that this source should not be read only as a means of denunciation before the government or judicial authority, but rather, as an instrument of political action with scopes and limitations given by the administrative structure of the State. Methodologically, the article is divided into three parts; first, the legal-political background and scope of the 'memorials' for the society of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries are presented; second the documents are characterized from the description of its internal structure, for which some cases identified in the General Archive of the Nation and local archives are used; and finally, it closes with conclusions and proposals on how to take advantage of the 'memorials' and the various challenges of historical interpretation available for those who wish to study agrarian conflicts.
