Resumen de Parliaments’ involvement in the Recovery and Resilience Facility

Bruno Días Pinheiro, Cristina Sofia Dias

  • The article analyses the national parliaments’ role in assessing and following up on national Recovery and Resilience Plans (RRP) as a proxy for their further involvement in Economic Governance. It also highlights the scope available for the European Parliament in RRP scrutiny, and possible ways forward for a common parliamentary approach to upcoming challenges. The article proposes to deepen interparliamentary (national and at the EU level) cooperation and interaction with other EU stakeholders, like the EU Court of Auditors, the national fiscal boards, and the European Commission. Furthermore, COSAC is recognised and suggested as one of the appropriate platforms for such cooperation. Considerations on parliaments’ overall role in Economic Governance underlie the analysis.
