Migration is a trend that seems to shape the globalized world together with the flow of goods, communication, culture, technology, and economy. Migrant families share some characteristics as they try to adjust to the new environment. Young adults who move due to their parents’ career choices go through many challenges as they face the developmental stage of construction of their identity. The purpose of this study was to conduct a qualitative exploration of the lived experiences of a select group of young adults between 18 and 20 years old. Participants were interviewed on an individual basis to gain a deep understanding of young adults’ experience of undergoing an international move. Results of this study revealed that young adults who face international moves due to their parents’ career choices live some transformative experiences and face some cultural challenges as well as attain cultural gains. Young adults generally move with their nuclear families, and, as such, they develop close ties with family members. Some of the challenges include the emphasis on both linguistic and cultural differences as part of the transition time when settling in the new environment.
