  • The advantages of composting the source sorted organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) are discussed together with the integration of the aerobic and anaerobic technologies for the treatment of OFMSW. An experimental example of such integration is given, The digester effluent, treating OFMSW, is co-composted with raw OFMSW. The overall process gives very good results in terms of waste stabilisation.
