The term Environmental Geotechnology includes all the technical activities directed to solve the different problems of earthen and artificial materials (raw or already transformed by man). These problems are caused by the environmental circumstances such as temperature, drying, water flow, and the action of the wind. It can be said that Environmental Geotechnology is the intersection between Environmental Sciences and Geotechnics. The latter studies the properties of soil, rocks and artifical materials that behave like soil, and tries to resolve matters like the foundation of structures on these materials, its diggin and its using like raw materials in soil structures.
