  • Resumen
    • BioArtigas S. A., a company in wich the Bilbao Town Council and the Ente Vasco de la Energia (E.V.E) have a joint holding, has recently inagurated a self-generating electricity plant (2x450 kW) in the Artigas landfill in Bilbao. Basically, the biogas is collected through 20 wells and chanelled through lines to ameasuring and cheking station where the central extraction plant is situated. The biogas is analysed in each of the lines and chanelled to the site where the two 450 kW unit capacity generator motor units are situated. Prior to this, the gas is cooled and reheated to completely eliminate the risk of drips entering the motors. The posible presence of any particlescaried in the gas is also eliminated in the coalescent filters positioned at the entrance point of each motor. The generated electricity, with the exception of the energy consumed by the equipment itself, passes into the Iberdrola, S. A. electricity gr-id.
