Resumen de Introducción en el aula de la documentación inquisitorial para el estudio de la literatura moderna

Jacob Mompó Navarro

  • In this paper we consider the use in the classroom of different archival materials, specifically, the documentary and bibliographic collections that have been generated around the tribunal of the Inquisition, and how these materials can complement the academic literature related to the literature of the modern age. We believe that the primary sources from the inquisitorial archival collections can nourish future philologists with direct testimonies about the life experiences of anonymous characters, traditionally marginalized by society but also by literature and historiography. Likewise, the introduction in teaching of the documentation coming from the inquisitorial censorship will help students to understand the different characteristics of the publishing industry in the modern age, as well as the taste for a certain type of literature that, at the same time, was persecuted by the Holy Office.
