  Nuestra protagonista, María Edilia Valero, escritora venezolana, llegó a Madrid al finalizar la década de los veinte, con la idea fija de crear un centro cultural hispanoamericano que abarcara múltiples competencias. De su fundación y derroteros va esta investigación que pretende dar a conocer la institución creada, sus estatutos y actividades durante los años que estuvo activa en España y que concluyó su andadura con la declaración de la guerra civil española.
