  Este estudio forma parte de la investigación sobre las percepciones delsuicidio en Chichí Suárez, Yucatán, entidad que se caracteriza por teneruno de los índices más altos de suicidios en el país.La gente del lugar identifica un “discurso” final del suicida a travésde sucesos fisiológicos involuntarios del cuerpo a los que atribuyenfacultades comunicativas. Con los esquemas reportados construyensignificados, permeados por la intencionalidad del intérprete-emisor.Su representación social evidencia una última comunicación del sujeto,mediante un cuerpo en plena transformación, motivo por el que se valede ciertas habilidades no verbales para interactuar.Se destaca el uso de la lengua para identificar la percepción y lasrepresentaciones sociales de la comunidad y hacer la categorización deacuerdo con las evidencias reportadas.

  This study is part of a research about suicide perceptions in ChichíSuárez. Yucatán is registered as one of the states with the highest rates ofsuicide in the Mexican Republic.People in this town identify the involuntary physiological events ofthe corpse and interpret them as the “suicide’s final discourse”, attributingcommunicative powers to it. They construct meanings withthe schemes reported, which are permeated by the interpreter-sender’sintentionality. Their social representation refers to the suicide’s lastcommunication by means of a body in transformation. This explainswhy it uses certain non-verbal skills to interact.This work emphasizes the use of the language to identify perceptionand social representations of the community, in order to make the categorizationaccording to the findings
