    Conquistada la ciudad de Sevilla en 1248 por las tropas castellanas, comenzaron los trabajos de la organización de la Iglesia hispalense. La restauración eclesiástica coincidió con la proliferación del uso del sello diplomático como medio de garantía e instrumento identificativo del titular. El presente trabajo pone de relieve la creación, uso y características de los primeros sellos utilizados por el cabildo de la catedral de Sevilla y sus prelados.

    Conquered the city of Seville in 1248 by the Castilian troops, the works of the organization of the church in Seville began. The ecclesiastical restoration coincided with the proliferation of the use of the diplomatic seal as a means of guarantee and identification instrument of the holder. This work highlights the creation, use and characteristics of the first stamps used by the Chapter of the Cathedral of Seville and its prelates.
