    O presente artigo examinará alguns dos fatores que permitiram ao Ministério Público Federal (MPF) priorizar o combate à corrupção dentre suas áreas de atuação no pós-redemocratização. Ademais, o texto discute a construção doutrinária de uma ‘vocação institucional’ para esse combate, objetivando recuperar a emergência da temática no MPF e contribuir na compreensão da participação dessas práticas institucionais em lógicas de dominação social. No primeiro tópico, com uma revisão bibliográfica, as características gerais do MP brasileiro são apreciadas. A seguir, um breve histórico do combate à corrupção no MPF é reconstruído através do exame de relatórios da 5ª CCR. Finalmente, aspectos da ideologia anticorrupção da instituição são analisados a fim de sugerir, a título de conclusão, dois conjuntos de problemas para novas pesquisas.

    This paper will examine some factors that allowed the Brazilian Federal Prosecution Service (MPF) to prioritize the fight against corruption among its areas of activity, after re-democratization in Brazil. Moreover, this text discusses the construction of a doctrine on an ‘institutional calling’ for this fight, aiming to recover this theme’s antecedents of emergence in the MPF, and contribute to comprehending the participation of these institutional practices in the logics of social domination. In the first topic, with a literature review on the Brazilian Prosecution Service (MP), its general characteristics are appraised. Then, through the examination of MPF’s 5th Chamber of Coordination and Review’s reports, a brief history of its fight against corruption is reconstructed. Finally, some aspects of the institution’s anticorruption ideology are analyzed to suggest, in conclusion, two sets of problems for further research.
