    Se estudian unas páginas de cuadernos manuscritos inéditos, que docu-mentan la transición desde el arte abstracto hasta el nacimiento del realismo sacro de Camilian Demetrescu (1924-2012). El viaje a España (1979) induce a Demetrescu a reflexionar sobre su continuidad en el arte abstracto; busca respuestas a través de las geometrías del arte islámico, descubre los símbolos del arte románico fijando su atención en los iluminadores mozárabes del Comentario al Apocalipsis de Beato de Liébana. El viaje concluye en la abadía de san Antimo (Italia): el encuentro con una crucifixión del siglo XII determinará el inicio del nuevo paradigma del artista

    This article study pages from unpublished notebooks of Romanian artist Camilian Demetrescu (1924-2012) that illustrate his transition from abstract art to his Sacred realism. The trip to Spain (1979), discussed in one of the notebooks, is pivotal in the reflections of Demetrescu about his position in abstract art. His experience be-gins with a search for alternative answers, exploring the abstract geometries of Islamic art, followed by the discovery of Romanesque symbols –with particular attention to the Mozarabic miniatures to Beato de Liébana’s Comments on the Apocalypse–. The journey ends in the abbey of Sant’Antimo (Italy), where the artist encounters a Byz-antine-orthodox sculpture. This finding determines the inception of Camilian Deme-trescu’s new paradigm
