    El artículo investiga la primera etapa de la trayectoria pública del político conservador del reinado isabelino Luis González Bravo. Caracterizada por su adscripción al progresismo radical, el estudio procede, primeramente, a precisar los rasgos políticos y sociales que lo definen. Acto seguido afronta su labor como periodista político, centrada en los diarios en los que es uno de sus principales redactores, El Guirigay y La Legalidad. Son los ácidos y críticos artículos, escritos en el primero bajo el título de “Cencerradas” y la firma de Ibrahim Clarete, los que hacen que adquiera cierta fama de escritor displicente y despreciativo con las altas instituciones del Estado y con los políticos moderados. Contradictoriamente, será con ellos con los que después tendrá que convivir. Hasta el punto de presidir los gobiernos de la larga etapa moderada con los que arranca y concluye el reinado isabelino.

    Essay on the first stage of the public life of the conservative politician of the Elizabethan reign Luis González Bravo. Characterized by its attachment to the radical progressivism, the study first proceeds to specify the political and social features that define it. Next, it faces his work as a political journalist focused on the newspapers in which he is one of its main editors, El Guirigay and La Legalidad. It is the acid and critical articles, written in the first under the title of “Cencerradas” and the signature of Ibrahim Clarete, which make the high institutions of the State and with moderate politicians acquire a certain reputation as a complacent and contemptuous writer. Contradictorily, it will be with them that he will later have to live with. To such a point of presiding over the governments of the long moderate stage with which the Elizabethan reign begins and ends.
