The process of airline internationalization is characteristic of the increasingly globalcontext in which the industry operates. In this process, airlines can either use their ownresources, or rely on cooperative behaviors, or benefit from a mix of both, thusdetermining different international profiles. In this study, the international profilespresent in the airline industry are explored and their development over time is studied.The results pointed to the presence of different internationalization strategies in theindustry, showing that the use of cooperative agreements affects the internationalprofile of airlines, and that internationalization strategies change over time
