Resumen de Efecto de la selección por varianza residual del tamaño de camada sobre la condición corporal de la coneja

E.W. Calle, M.L. García, A. Blasco, M.J. Argente

  • The aim of this study is to analyse the effect of divergent selection for residual variance of litter size on body condition (BC), measured as perirenal fat thickness (PFT), and to find whether BC is related to litter size (LS) and its components, ovulation rate (OR) implanted embryos (IE). The high (H) and low (L) lines have similar PFT. The L line shows higher coefficient of regression between PFT and OR than H line (0.84 vs 0.20), and between PFT and LS (0.76 vs 0.30). In conclusion, relationships between BC and OR and LS seem to be different between lines.
