    Este trabajo analiza la interpretación del término pignus en los Carmina Latina Epigraphica (CLE), identificando los significados y derivaciones metafóricas que adopta en estos textos, concretamente en los funerarios. Nuestro trabajo ofrece como base un recorrido por las distintas acepciones que recogen los diccionarios para analizar, a continuación, su uso, los significados y las derivaciones metafóricas que adopta en los CLE. El trabajo se completa con un estudio comparativo de su uso en la poesía latina, determinando si los significados coinciden en los textos de una y otra clase, y en qué autores suele aparecer, midiendo el nivel de especialización.

    This paper analyses the interpretation of the term pignus in the Carmina Latina Epigraphica (CLE), identifying the meanings and metaphorical derivations it adopts in these texts, specifically in funerary texts. Our work is based on a survery of the different meanings found in the dictionaries and then goes on to analyse their use, meanings and metaphorical derivations in the CLE. The work is completed with a comparative study of its use in Latin poetry, determining if the meanings coincide in the texts of both kinds, and in which authors it usually appears, measuring the level of specialisation.
