El indigenismo, como movimiento político y social, tiene como objetivo destacar los elementos de la cultura indígena que hasta el momento han estado invisibilizados. En este artículo se realiza una breve aproximación a los elementos más distintivos del indigenismo presentes en las artes plásticas y la literatura ecuatoriana. Asimismo, se destaca el papel que este movimiento ha tenido en la literatura y las artes plásticas, así como los máximos representantes de estas manifestaciones en Ecuador

Indigenism, as a political and social movement, aims to highlight the elements of indigenous culture that have been invisible until now. In this article, a brief approach to the most distinctive elements of indigenism present in Ecuadorian plastic arts and literature is made. Likewise, the role that this movement has had in literature and plastic arts is highlighted, as well as the highest representatives of these manifestations in Ecuador
