Resumen de Las Escilas de Virgilio y Ovidio

En este artículo se analizan las posibles fuentes virgilianas para la creación de su Escila, muy diferente de la homérica, llegándose a la hipótesis de que éstas pueden encontrarse en Hesíodo y Apolonio de Rodas. Se analizan las diferencias entre el relato virgiliano a propósito del monstruo y el ovidiano y se indica dónde pudo encontrar Ovidio la sugerencia para crear la historia conducente a una metamorfosis, probablemente en Propercio. Se señalan la intertextualidad tanto griega como latina y la intratextualidad del relato del poeta de Sulmona.

The possible virgilian sources for the creation of his Scylla, very different from he homeric ones, are analyzed in this article. We put forward the hypothesis that they can be found in Hesiod and Apollonius of Rhodes. The differences between Virgil’s and Ovid’s stories in relation to the monster are compared and we point out the idea that Ovidio could find in Propertius the hints to create the story leading to a metamorphose. The Greek and Latin intertextuality and the intratextuality of the Sulmona poet’s story are pointed out
