Apertura comercial, problemas y perspectivas del mercado de trabajo en México

    El objetivo del artículo es dar seguimiento a las condiciones de desarrollo que se dieron antes y después de la apertura en México, enfatizando su problemática laboral. Para realizar lo anterior se utilizaron métodos estadísticos. El resultado es que el nuevo modelo de desarrollo implementado con la apertura comercial y promovido en su momento como uno que podría superar muchos de los problemas que aquejaban al país, no dio los resultados que se esperaban y por el contrario sentó bases para impedir que las condiciones laborales de un alto porcentaje de trabajadores en el país mejoraran junto con sus condiciones de vida. Una limitante –aunque desde otro punto de vista podía ser una fortaleza- es que se analiza lo que sucedió a diversas variables consideradas clave y no se enfocó en una problemática puntual. Una de las conclusiones que se puede apreciar es que existe una tendencia decreciente en casi todas las variables clave desde que se dio la apertura comercial y ello ha venido afectando las condiciones laborales de un alto porcentaje de los trabajadores en el país. Una particularidad de la investigación es que abarca hasta el año 2020, el año de la pandemia y el 2019 cuando inician las acciones de confinamiento.

    The objective of the article is to follow up on the development conditions that occurred before and after the commercial opening in Mexico, emphasizing its consequences in the labor market. Statistical methods were used to do this. The result is that the new development model, implemented with the commercial opening and promoted at the time as one that could overcome many of the problems that afflicted the country, did not have the expected outcome and, on the contrary, laid the foundations to prevent that the working conditions of a high percentage of workers in the country to improve all along with their living conditions. A limitation -although from another point of view it could be a strength- is that what happened to various variables considered key is analyzed, thus, this paper is not just focused on a specific problem. One of the conclusions that can be seen is that there is a downward trend in almost all key variables since the opening of the country and this has been affecting the working conditions of a high percentage of their workers. A peculiarity of the research is that it covers until the pandemic year (2020), and also the 2019 year when beginning the lockdown actions.
