Resumen de Orígenes y desempeño del Conacyten el sexenio de Luis Echeverría Álvarez

Este artículo hace un repaso de las principales actividades del Conacyt a partir de su nacimiento en 1970 y a lo largo del gobierno de Luis Echeverría Álvarez (1970-1976). Se revisan algunos indicadores del trabajo científico y se describen programas y proyectos que fueron apoyados tanto con recursos propios, como de cooperación internacional. Por otro lado, se exploran los artículos científicos publicados en ese periodo y que fueron considerados como relevantes en los índices de la organización Web of Science, cuya información sirve para comprobar la hipótesis de que gracias al proceso de institucionalización del sistema de ciencia en México, iniciado en 1970, fue posible organizar, apoyar y promover la investigación científica del país, lo cual se observa en el crecimiento del número de publicaciones que fueron citadas. El objetivo es mostrar el impacto que tuvo la nueva institución en el crecimiento de la dinámica del trabajo científico a nivel nacional e internacional.

The article reviews the main projects supported by Conacyt during the go-vernment of Luis Echeverria Álvarez (1970-196), both with its own resources and with those of international cooperation. On the other hand, it also re-views the scientific articles published during the same period that were con-sidered relevant in the indexes of the site Web of Science. Today, those in-dexes are taken into account as a relevant indicator of scientific work in Mexico. Finally the information about the projects and the articles are cros-sed to test the hypothesis of our research: the institutionalization process of the science system in Mexico started in 1970 allowed us to organize, support and promote scientific research in the country. allowing the rise of relevant papers published. The objective is to show the impact that the new institution had on the dynamics of scientific work at national and international level.
