    The present paper refers to the history of the discipline of Educational Biology which was part of the curriculumof normal schools in São Paulo. The improvements in the discipline have been included in social projects ofeducational renewal in course in Brazil since the 1920s. These have been associated with the production ofacting models, not only in the schooling process but also in the students‘ future practices. The aim of thisstudy is to get to know the Educational Biology professors better, their educational qualifications, and theirfields of activity besides their contact with the different types of organizations of the discipline in the periodfrom 1933 to 1970. This was carried out by analyzing printed productions, archived documents as well asstatements from the teachers. A first professional group was identified who had been working with the disci-pline since 1933, when it was included in the curriculum: the medical educators. Since the end of the 1940stwo other professional groups struggled for space in the field, teachers leaving normal school and others whograduated from university, all making use of different approaches for their aims, contents and practices ofEducational Biology.

    O presente trabalho refere-se à história da disciplina Biologia Educacional no âmbito curricular das escolas normais paulistas. As elaborações da disciplina, inseridas em projetos sociais mais amplos de renovação educacional em desenvolvimento no Brasil a partir da década de 1920, associam-se à produção de modelos de atuação, tanto no processo de escolarização dos docentes, como em suas futuras práticas. Neste estudo, pretende-se melhor conhecer os professores de Biologia Educacional, sua formação, atuação e relação com diferentes formas de organização da disciplina, no período de 1933 a 1970. Por meio da análise de produções impressas, documentos arquivísticos e de depoimentos de professoras, identifica-se um primeiro grupo profissional que trabalha com a disciplina a partir de 1933, quando ela é inserida no currículo: os médicos educadores. A partir do final da década de 1940, outros dois grupos profissionais disputam espaço no campo, os normalistas e os licenciados, com diferentes abordagens para os objetivos, conteúdos e práticas da Biologia Educacional.
