Resumen de O Controle do Espaço, do Tempo e das Atividades no Internato da Escola Agrotécnica Federal de São Cristóvão-SE

This article is a historical approach of the “discipline power” exercise in the boarding school of The FederalAgrotechnic School of São Cristóvão-SE (EAFSC-SE) and is part of a broaden study of the “boarding schooleducation” in the institution mentioned, from 1934 to 1967. The discipline control techniques of space, timeand the daily activities of the interns were pointed out and analyzed. The spaces of the boarding school werecontrolled based on techniques of distribution of the interns in fixed or specific places, but in a way that couldallowed their productive and controlled circulation. The timing control was done through different “touchs ofbugles” and other devices of control, indicated to the interns the regulated and imposing schedules. Theexhausting routine of activities followed the standard of boarding schools with a singular aspect: the manualwork.

Este artigo é uma abordagem histórica do exercício do “poder disciplinar” no internato da Escola Agrotécnica Federal de São Cristóvão-SE (EAFSC-SE) e faz parte de um estudo mais amplo sobre a “pedagogia de internar” na referida instituição, no período de 1934 a 1967. São evidenciadas e analisadas as técnicas disciplinares de controle do espaço, do tempo e das atividades diárias dos internos. Os espaços do internato eram controlados pelas técnicas de distribuição dos internos em lugares fixos ou específicos, mas que permitiam a circulação produtiva e controlada. A sinalização do tempo, com os diversos “toques de cornetas” e outros dispositivos de controle, indicavam aos internos os horários regulados e impositivos. A rotina exaustiva de atividades seguia o padrão dos internatos escolares com um aspecto diferenciador: o trabalho braçal.
