    Desde 1674, la Virgen del Sagrario de Toledo se asienta en un magnífico trono de plata realizado por el genovés Virgilio Fanelli, una obra referente en la orfebrería hispana del Seiscientos que desde los albores del siglo XX ha acaparado el protagonismo de múltiples publicaciones. No sucede así con el trono precedente, siendo el propósito del presente trabajo subsanar esta realidad y determinar sus fases constructivas, la autoría, así como su aspecto definitivo.

    Since 1674, the Virgen del Sagrario de Toledo sits on the magnificent silver throne made by Virgilio Fanelli, a benchmark of Hispanic goldsmithing of the 16th century who, since the dawn of the 20th century, has monopolized the prominence of multiple publications. This is not the case with the throne that preceded it, so the purpose of this work is to correct this reality. For this, it has been possible to determine the construction phases, the authorship, as well as the final appearance of the two thrones prior to the one executed by Fanelli.
