La platería de la Edad Media ha servido de referencia a las creaciones de siglos posteriores. Algunos aspectos de la misma, de sus tipologías y de su estructura, permanecieron vigentes durante algún tiempo en el Renacimiento o también se recuperaron concepciones o apariencias en el Barroco. Con los historicismos del siglo XIX y de parte del XX alcanza particular protagonismo el neogótico, que puede representar una inspiración fiel en el estilo histórico, pero alcanzando sus propias soluciones.

The silverware of the Middle Ages has served as a reference for the creations of later centuries. Some aspects of it, from its typologies and its structure, remained in force for some time in the Renaissance, and even its conceptions or appearances were also recovered in the Baroque. With the historicisms of the 19th century and part of the 20th, neo-Gothic achieves particular prominence, which can represent a faithful inspiration in the historical style.
