Higher education and civility as a basis for the generation of social capital: Case study ECCI University Bogotá Colombia

    El contexto colombiano actual, requiere del fortalecimiento del tejido social a partir de robustecer la confianza y asociatividad en los ciudadanos frente a las instituciones, necesidad que se genera como parte de la transformación estratégica del país, que demanda una educación de calidad para disminuir la desigualdad social y fortalecer la confianza en la sociedad. Se desarrolla una investigación descriptiva con un análisis cuantitativo a partir de una muestra de (423) estudiantes de la Universidad ECCI. Se asume la confianza como un eje vinculante con la educación superior y base del civismo, el presente estudio parte de reconocer que las universidades tienen la responsabilidad de generar y desarrollar el potencial de sus estudiantes como ciudadanos, fortaleciendo la responsabilidad frente al cambio social en sus vidas y su entorno en un estado social de derecho, en este sentido, las instituciones de educación superior deben fomentar la generación de redes y participación ciudadana.

    The current Colombian context requires the strengthening of the social fabric from strengthening trust and associativity in citizens against institutions, a need that is generated as part of the strategic transformation of the country, which demands quality education to reduce inequality. And strengthen trust in society. Descriptive research is developed with a quantitative analysis from a sample of (423) students from the ECCI University. Confidence is assumed as a linking axis with higher education and the basis of civility, the present study starts by recognizing that universities have the responsibility to generate and develop the potential of their students as citizens, strengthening the responsibility in the face of social change in their lives and their environment in a social state of law, in this sense, higher education institutions must promote the generation of networks and citizen participation.
