Sobrecarga del cuidador familiar principal en pacientes pediátricos con enfermedad renal crónica según la escala de zarit

    Actualmente en Venezuela existen muchos casos de personas que sufren de enfermedad renal crónica, lo que conlleva a que no solo se vea afectados el portador sino también sus familiares. En virtud a ello el objetivo de esta investigación fue Caracterizar la Sobrecarga del cuidador familiar principal en pacientes pediátricos con enfermedad renal crónica. Este estudio fue de enfoque positivista, no experimental, tipo descriptivo con diseño transversal, la población la constituyen once (11) cuidadores familiares (no perciben ninguna remuneración económica) de pacientes renales que asisten a su control mensual de un  Hospital  Pediátrico a quienes previo consentimiento informado se les aplico el cuestionario Escala de Zarit que consta de 22 preguntas con escala de respuesta tipo Likert. Los resultados muestran que según el baremo del instrumento, 27% posee sobrecarga intensa, 9% tiene sobrecarga leve y se concluye que 64% no tienen sobrecarga.

    In Venezuela, there are currently many cases in Venezuela of people suffering from chronic kidney disease. Such condition, not only affected the sufferer but also their families. In view of this, the objective of this research was to characterize the burden of the main family caregiver in pediatric patients with chronic kidney disease. This study was framed under the positivist paradigm. It is a descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population was made up of eleven (11) family caregivers –who do not receive any economic compensation– of renal patients who attended their monthly control at the Pediatric Hospital. With previous consent, The Scale de Zarit questionnaire, consisting of 22 questions with a response scale type Likert, was applied to them. The results show that, according to the scale of the instrument, 27% have intense burden, 9% have slight burden and it is concluded that 64% have no burden.
