Resumen de A representação da mulher “feminista” na televisão brasileira: o figurino da personagem Malu no seriado “Malu Mulher”

  This article analyzes the representation of women identified with feminist ideals on Brazilian television through the appearance of the character Malu in the series Malu Mulher (1979-1980). This production by Rede Globo de Televisão highlighted the transformations in the everyday life of middle-class women, proposing a modern vision in the context of Brazilian patriarchal culture. Considering the importance of appearance as an instrument of domination over women (WOLF, 1992) and the audiovisual as a Gender Technology (LAURETIS, 1994) that corroborates the construction of normative female models, this character presented a challenge, given the stereotypes attributed to feminist woman and her unprecedented representation in a country that lived with the censorship of the military government.

  O presente artigo analisa a representação da mulher identificada com os ideais feministas na televisão brasileira através da aparência da personagem Malu no seriado Malu Mulher (1979-1980). Essa produção da Rede Globo de Televisão colocava em cena as transformações no cotidiano feminino de classe média propondo uma visão moderna no contexto da cultura patriarcal brasileira. Considerando a importância da aparência como instrumento de dominação sobre a mulher (WOLF, 1992) e o audiovisual como uma Tecnologia do Gênero (LAURETIS, 1994) que corrobora na construção de modelos femininos normativos, essa personagem apresentava um desafio para a produção, dado os estereótipos atribuídos à figura da mulher feminista e sua representação inédita em um país que convivia com a censura do governo militar.
