David Sellwood, in his second edition of « An Introduction to The Coinage of Parthia » listed various tetradrachms, albeit very disparate, under the same S.55 type, assigning them all to Tiridates. In focusing on the different characteristics of these emissions, and their style and dating, we will demonstrate that among these tetradrachms, only a few actually belong to Tiridates, most to be credited to Phraates IV, and a handful to none of these two rulers.

David Sellwood, dans sa seconde édition de « An Introduction to The Coinage of Parthia », rassemblait sous un même type, S.55, divers tétradrachmes pourtant fort disparates, et les assignait tous à Tiridates. On s’intéressera aux caractéristiques de ces différentes émissions, à leur style et à leur datation, afin de démontrer que sur l’ensemble de ces tétradrachmes une part infime revient en fait à Tiridates, l’essentiel pouvant être crédité à Phraates IV, et qu’une poignée ne peut appartenir ni à l’un ni à l’autre de ces deux souverains.
