La poesía toca el mundo de la medicina en un punto donde las certezas cuantificables son borrosas. Un médico acostumbrado a trabajar a diario con el dolor y el sufrimiento de sus pacientes, necesita además una ayuda que le permita reconciliarse con su profesión y con el sentido más profundo del ser humano. Los poetas, en cierto modo, transitan por los mismos senderos de la medicina, tratan de unir lo personal y lo universal, mostrar lo particular sin simplificar nada, transportando el instante a una suerte más elevada de encuentros.

Poetry touches the world of medicine at a point where quantifiable certainties are blurred. A doctor accustomed to working daily with the pain and suffering of his patients, also needs help that allows him to reconcile with his profession and with the deepest sense of human being. The poets, in a way, walk the same paths as medicine, they try to unite the personal and the universal, show the particular without simplifying anything, transporting the moment to a higher kind of encounter.
