De una 'universidad mejor' a una 'universidad nacional': los orígenes de la Universidad Nacional de La Patagonia en 1974, entre lo global y lo local

    El artículo está dedicado al análisis de las condiciones sócio históricas que intervinieron en la creación de la Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia en 1974. El objetivo que perseguimos com este trabajo es contribuir al conocimiento de la expansión del sistema universitário argentino desde un estúdio local, a partir del análisis de fuentes históricas tales como la prensa del período, entrevista a un informante clave, y documentación de archivos universitários. La hipótesis que guia esta investigación indica que el origen de uma Universidad Nacional en la Patagonia en 1974, se debió a múltiples factores. Además de las demandas del movimento estudiantil referidas a la instalación de uma universidad estatal, y la expansión del sistema universitário promovido por el general Alejandro Lanusse en la etapa final de la denominada Revolución Argentina, deben sumarse las transformaciones sócio políticas a nível nacional en la década del ’70 (en particular, el acercamiento entre el peronismo y los sectores médios universitários), los câmbios que acontecieron en el sistema de educación superior a escala global, y elclima ideológico – cultural mundial de fines de la década del ‘60.

    The article is dedicated to the analysis of the socio-historical conditions that intervened in the creationof the National University of Patagonia in 1974. The objective we pursue with this work is to contributeto the knowledge of the expansion of the Argentine university system from a local study, to starting fromthe analysis of historical sources such as the press of the period, an interview with a key informant, anddocumentation from university archives. The hypothesis that guides this research indicates that the origin of a National University in Patagonia in 1974 was due to multiple factors. In addition to the demands of the student movement regarding the installation of a state university, and the expansion of the university system promoted by General Alejandro Lanusse in the final stage of the so-called Argentine Revolution, the socio-political transformations at the national level must be added in the decade of the ‘70 (in particular, the rapprochement between Peronism and the university middle sectors), the changes thatoccurred in the higher education system on a global scale, and the global ideological-cultural climate ofthe late 1960s.
