    Se analiza la vida y obra de Amanda Labarca Hubertson, connotada educadora, escritora y feminista. Pionera en el tema de Jos derechos femeninos. fue una de las primeras mujeres en el continente que tuvo a su cargo una cátedra universitaria , actividad que la vincula al surgimiento de Ja Psicología en Chile. A partir del análisis de diversas fuentes de información se reconstruye, desde una perspectiva psicohistórica , el retrato de esta heroína. Se concluye que el impacto que representa su figura en el ámbito social y cultural de la época opaca Ja intimidad de su mundo privado. Amanda transita entre la vanguardia y la tradición, incorporando en su quehacer diversas funciones y abriendo nuevos espacios para la mujer de su época.

    This article analyzes the life and work of Amanda Labarca Hubertson, connoted educator, writer and feminist. Pioneer in the topic of female rights, she was one of the first women in the continent in change of a university class, activity that links her to the cmergence of Psychology in Chile. From thc analysis of divcrsc sourccs of infonnation, this heroine's portrait is reconstructed from a psyco historical perspective. It is possible to conclude that the impact that her figure represents in the social and cultural space of the time she lived in, shadows the intimacy of her prívate world. Amanda moves between vanguard and tradition, including in her work diverse functions and opening new perspectives for women of her time.
