    En los últimos años se ha desarrollado un Proyecto de investigación sobre la paleotopografía de la antigua ciudad de Carthago Nova. Se han aplicado estudios de análisis geoquímico, que han permitido restituir la paleolínea de costa, así como aspectos de la morfología del fondo marino. Esto ha permitido la revisión y desarrollo de una investigación profunda sobre sus puertos antiguos en base a la evolución del espacio marítimo portuario entre el s. III a.C. y el s. V d.C. Se han utilizado los datos geoarqueológicos, evidencias arqueológicas terrestres, así como un estudio de campo de los contextos subacuáticos de la ciudad para plantear una historia diacrónica de la evolución del espacio portuario. Esto nos ha permitido recuperar datos novedosos sobre los puertos antiguos y plantear ciertos análisis SIG con el objetivo de comprender la articulación de los puertos antiguos de la ciudad y recuperar para la investigación, una visión desde lo náutico y la cultura marítima

    In recent years, a research project on the paleotopography of the ancient city of Carthago Nova has been developed. Geochemical analysis studies have been carried out, which have allowed the restoration of the coast paleolline as well as aspects of the bottom morphology. This has allowed to review and develop of an in-depth investigation of its ancient harbours based on the evolution of the maritime space of the ancient city between the 3rd BC and the 5th AD. Geoarchaeological data, terrestrial archaeological evidence, as well as a field study of the underwater contexts of the harbour have been used to present a diachronic history of the evolution of harbour space. This has allowed us to recover new data on the ancient harbours and to propose certain GIS analyzes with the objective of understanding the articulation of the port and recover for the investigation a vision from nautical and maritime culture.
