Resumen de Franco Ciarlantini e a divulgação da literatura italiana no início do século XX

O presente artigo pretende revelar o papel que Franco Ciarlantini, importante figura política italiana, teve nas trocas literárias entre a América do Sul – principalmente o Brasil – e a Itália, no início do século XX. Ciarlantini vai dedicar sua vida à divulgação da cultura italiana por meio, entre outros, da editora “Alpes” e da revista “Augustea: politica, economia, arte”, fonte rica através da qual foi possível fazer um levantamento das ações que contribuíram para essa divulgação e do envolvimento de Ciarlantini nelas. Para analisar suas contribuições e o quanto elas foram bem-sucedidas, a ferramenta principal é o conceito de valor literário, conforme exposto na obra República Mundial das Letras, de Pascale Casanova, na qual as trocas literárias aconteceriam num mercado mundial, e fatores como língua seriam imprescindíveis para conhecer o valor atribuído às obras que aí circulam. Ciarlantini seria, nesse mercado, um intermediário cultural, cujo papel é de levar a cultura italiana para o povo italiano e para o exterior, e os resultados de suas ações junto ao regime fascista serão examinados dentro desse mercado literário mundial.

The present article intends to reveal the role that Franco Ciarlantini, an important Italian political figure, had in the literary exchanges between South America - mainly Brazil - and Italy at the beginning of the 20th century. Ciarlantini dedicated his life to the dissemination of Italian culture through, among others, his publishing house “Alpes” and the magazine “Augustea: politica, economia, arte”, a rich source that made possible to survey the actions that contributed to this dissemination and Ciarlantini's involvement in them. To analyze their contributions and how successful they were, the main tool is the concept of literary value, as exposed in the work The World Republic of Letters, by Pascale Casanova, in which literary exchanges would take place in a world market, and factors as a language would be essential to know the value attributed to the works that circulate within it. Ciarlantini would be, in this market, a cultural intermediary, whose role is to bring Italian culture to the Italian people and abroad, and the results of his actions with the fascist regime will be examined within this world literary market.
