  • The gas phase decomposition of t-butyl methyl ether catalyzed by hydrogen ha-lides is studied. Four different hydrogen halides (fluorine, chlorine, bromine,and iodine) were evaluated to determine the electronic influence of the halogenin the reaction mechanism.
