    El presente artículo hace una lectura crítica de lecturas relevantes que se han realizado sobre el concepto paulino de katechón. Abstraído de su contexto histórico y teológico, el katechón ha resultado un término clave para explicar la política contemporánea en Carl Schmitt, Jacob Taubes, Giorgio Agamben y Massimo Cacciari. Tras la estela del primero, el katechón pasó de ser una figura concreta de la teología paulina a convertirse en un elemento metahistórico de interpretación, que ha permitido dar sentido a una filosofía de la historia desde la modernidad. A través de una revisión bibliográfica de textos antiguos y modernos, se busca pensar la vigencia del concepto de katechón al interior del pensamiento político de nuestro tiempo.

    This article makes a critical reading of relevant readings that have been made on the Pauline concept of katechon. Abstracted from its historical and theological context, the katechon has become a key term in explaining contemporary politics in Carl Schmitt, Jacob Taubes, Giorgio Agamben and Massimo Cacciari. In the footsteps of the first, the katechon went from being a concrete figure of Pauline theology to becoming a meta-historical element of interpretation, which has made it possible to give meaning to a philosophy of history from modern times. Through a bibliographical review of ancient and modern texts, we seek to think about the validity of the concept of katechon within the political thought of our time.
