Resumen de Polonia y España a través de los siglos

Pasando revista a la historia de Polonia y de España, dos países tan lejanos y tan diferentes, se puede refl exionar sobre el sentido de tratarlos conjuntamente. En Polonia la tradición de aludir a la historia de España data de doscientos años, en cambio la misma idea al revés no se les ha ocurrido a los españoles. En esta situación he considerado justificado una yuxtaposición de la historia de Polonia y España exclusivamente en el marco de la refl exión sobre Europa. El objetivo de este texto es entonces mostrar cómo los dos países participaron durante su historia en la formación de Europa y de qué manera su existencia, en los tiempos de grandeza y en la época de decadencia, se caracterizaba por su importancia en la historia europea. Gracias a eso se puede esperar el ahondamiento del entendimiento mutuo de su propia identidad por parte de polacos y españoles

In looking at Poland and Spain’s histories, two countries so distant and so different, one can see sense in treating them jointly. In Poland, the tradition to allude to the history of Spain dates back two hundred years; on the other hand, the same has not been reciprocated by Spaniards. Due to this, I considered the juxtaposition of the history of Poland and Spain, exclusively within the framework of the refl ection on Europe, justified. Therefore, this paper aims to demonstrate how these two countries participated in the formation of Europe and how their presence in times of greatness and the epoch of decadence was characterised by their importance in European history. Hopefully, this will deepen their mutual understanding of the identity between Poles and Spaniards.
