    Con motivo de cumplirse el 50 aniversario del Hospital Infantil Universitario Miguel Servet, se expone en este artículo la historia y cambios habidos en la Unidad de Enfermedades Infecciosas. Se describen las principales características del área de hospitalización y de las actividades asistenciales, docentes y de investigación. Se abordan los factores que han influido en la evolución de las enfermedades infecciosas durante este periodo.

    To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Miguel Servet University Children’s Hospital, this article describes the history and changes in the Infectious Diseases Section.The main characteristics of the hospitalization area and the care, teaching and research activities are described. The factors that have influenced the evolution of infectious diseases during this period are addressed as well.
