    La Alergología Pediátrica es una especialidad con amplio desarrollo en los últimos años que se encarga del diagnóstico y tratamiento de las diferentes enfermedades alérgicas como el asma, la rinoconjuntivitis, la dermatitis atópica y la alergia alimentaria. En los últimos años ha adquirido mayor relevancia por el aumento progresivo de estas patologías y la posibilidad de realizar un tratamiento precoz en muchos pacientes. La Unidad de Alergología Pediátrica del Hospital Infantil Miguel Servet es una Unidad de referencia de la Comunidad de Aragón. En este artículo se describe la historia tanto de la estructura como de la actividad asistencial, docente y de investigación de la Unidad.

    Pediatric allergology is a pediatric subspeciality with a broad development in the last years which is related with the diagnosis and treatment of different allergic diseases in infancy and adolescence such as asthma, rhinoconjunctivities, atopic dermatitis and food allergy. During the last years this discipline has acquired a significant relevance due to the progressive increment in the prevalence of allergic diseases and to the possibility to offer and precocious treatment to these patients. The Unit of Pediatric Allergology of the Children ́s Hospital Miguel Servet is considered to be the reference centre in the region of Aragón.This article describes the organization, medical, teaching and research activities of the Unit.
