Pantalla y pintura contemporánea: La influyente planicidad de los mass media

    En este artículo analizamos la pintura contemporánea de una selección de artistas pertenecientes a la generación millennial occidental. El principal factor a identificar es la representación del espacio que en sus pinturas tiene lugar, y su relación a la conceptualización que del espacio tenemos actualmente, influenciada por las numerosas imágenes procedentes de los mass media a través de las cuales recibimos y generamos información diariamente.

    Del estudio de autores como Heidegger, Vattimo, Bauman, Debord y Baudrillard deducimos una serie de características que identifican a la sociedad contemporánea y que son directamente reflejadas en las nuevas creaciones pictóricas de estos artistas a los que hemos entrevistado para la obtención de datos concretos que comprueben nuestra hipótesis.

    The aim of this article is to analyse contemporary paintings of a selection of artists belonging to the millennial generation in Western society, focusing on the representation of space that takes place in these works. In addition, we also pay attention to the relationship between our conceptualization of space and the influence of the great number of images from mass media through which we daily receive and generate information.Having identified relevant characteristics that define contemporary society in theories of several authors such as Heidegger, Vattimo, Bauman, Debord and Baudrillard, we deduce that these are directly reflected in new painting works of these artists whom we have interviewed to obtain concrete data that check our hypothesis.
