Resumen de Hieróglifo: um conceito à luz da semiótica

In this article, we intend to discuss the semiotic processes of resignification and transfiguration of the sign from the specific case of hieroglyphs, which illustrate, in their historical reception in the West, a kind of narrative interpretation based on a certain perception of non-arbitrariness in the relation between the sign and its object. Therefore, we will talk about sign displacements in historical and cultural contexts, and in the new semantic coverings that they can acquire beyond their traditional spheres of use and the social practices they denote. We will see, finally, how this revisited concept applies to the reading of different poetic processes, to the aesthetic phenomena proper to verbal language and to the uses of rhetoric extended to the field of signification.

Este artigo procura discutir os processos semióticos de ressignificação e transfiguração do signo a partir do caso específico dos hieróglifos, os quais ilustram, em sua recepção histórica no Ocidente, um tipo de interpretação narrativa baseada em certa percepção de não-arbitrariedade na relação entre o signo e seu objeto. Falaremos, portanto, em deslocamentos do signo em contextos históricos e culturais, e nos novos revestimentos semânticos que possam adquirir além de suas tradicionais esferas de utilização e das práticas sociais que denotam. Veremos, ao cabo, como esse conceito revisitado se aplica à leitura de diferentes processos poéticos, aos fenômenos estéticos próprios à linguagem verbal e aos usos da retórica estendida ao campo da significação.
