Resumen de La rehabilitación turística en Gran Canaria: Realidad o quimera

  Gran Canaria se caracteriza por ser un destino turístico maduro con una planta alojativa obsoleta. La rehabilitación y renovación de estas áreas turísticas se convierte, por tanto, en un elemento clave de las políticas públicas. Para ello, se han promulgado sucesivas normativas urbanísticas que promueven la rehabilitación turística. En este trabajo se analiza qué medidas o incentivos, en materia de rehabilitación de destinos turísticos maduros, propone la administración pública, con el fin de poner de manifiesto si dichas iniciativas han conseguido los objetivos propuestos en el municipio de San Bartolomé de Tirajana o;por el contrario, han quedado en meros propósitos.

  Gran Canaria is considered a mature tourism destination with obsolete accommodation establishments.Therefore, the rehabilitation and renewal of these tourist areas become a key element of public policies. To this end, it has issued urban law in order to promote the tourist rehabilitation. In this paper, we analyze themeasures and incentives for the rehabilitation of the mature tourism destination which the public administration has proposed to determine if the proposed goals could be achieved in the municipality of SanBartolomé of Tirajana.
