    Comprender la interacción del ser humano con la naturaleza y el saber ancestral constituye un incentivo para investigar la realidad inmersa en el conocimiento ambiental de la comunidad indígena de Imantag-Ecuador, desde el enfoque del turismo sustentable mediante un estudio cualitativo, basado en la opinión de sus protagonistas. El propósito del presente estudio es interpretar la percepción ambiental del indígena y proponer un modelo educativo-ambiental emergido en la reconstrucción de saberes ambientales comunitarios; la develación de significados en base a los conocimientos ancestrales cotidianos, a fin de valorar su patrimonio cultural y natural desde el turismo emergente y ecosocial, bajo el paradigma socio construccionista, el método etnográfico y el enfoque hermenéuticointerpretativo, con apoyo de la observación participante y la entrevista en profundidad, dando como resultado los significados ambientales develados, cuyas expresiones de sentido permitieron incorporar elementos para el modelo educativo-ambiental.

    Understanding the human interaction with nature and the ancestral knowledge, provides an incentive to investigate the reality immersed in the environmental knowledge of indigenous community Imantag-Ecuador, from the perspective of sustainable tourism through a qualitative study, based on the opinion of its protagonists. The purpose of this study is to interpret the environmental perception of indigenous and propose an educationalenvironmental model emerged in rebuilding community environmental knowledge; the unveiling of meanings based on ancestral knowledge everyday, in order to assess their cultural and natural heritage from the pop-tourism and eco-social, low socio constructionist paradigm, the ethnographic method and hermeneutic-interpretive approach, supported in participant observation and in-depth interviews, resulting in the environmental unveiled meanings, whose expressions of meaning allowed to incorporate elements of the educational-environmental model.
