     La ciudad del Antropoceno se debate entre la compacidad y la dispersión. El objetivo de la investigación busca las claves para encontrar una nueva ética para las disciplinas de la arquitectura y el urbanismo en la ciudad del futuro. Esta ética es entendida desde una perspectiva más cercana a la ciudad mediterránea de nuestro entorno, posiblemente menos densa y más sostenible, concebida como el conjunto de valores históricos, culturales y naturales que conforman el paisaje, donde las ciudades y su arquitectura son figuras que deben mantener el equilibrio de un territorio. El concepto de ciudad mediterránea no sería simplemente el de la ciudad compacta, más bien todo lo contrario. Este ideal estaría más cercano al de ciudad posdifusa. Más allá de la simple dispersión, hemos encontrado en el campo, de nuevo, la solución a los problemas que ha generado la ciudad posmoderna. Lo rural, hasta ahora un espacio residual y despreciado, se convierte hoy en un valor esencial para el habitar en la propia ciudad.

     The city of the Anthropocene is torn between compactness and sprawl. The objective of the research seeks the keys to find a new ethic for the disciplines of architecture and urban planning in the city of the future. This ethic is understood from a perspective closer to the Mediterranean city of our environment, possibly less dense and more sustainable, conceived as the set of historical, cultural and natural values that make up the landscape, where cities and their architecture are figures that must keep the balance of a territory. The concept of the Mediterranean city would not simply be that of the compact city, rather the opposite. This ideal would be closer to that of a post-diffuse city. Beyond the simple dispersion, we found in the countryside, once again, the solution to the problems that the postmodern city has generated. The rural, until now a residual and despised space, becomes nowadays an essential value for living in the city itself.
