    El diagnóstico turístico del sector de la Candelaria se elaboró con el propósito de incluir en la propuesta turística que se oferta al visitante todos los atractivos naturales, culturales y recreativos no incluidos en la actual propuesta y que pudieran influir en el número de visitantes tanto foráneos como nacionales y elevar las capacidades turísticas del sector. El diagnóstico se elaboró a partir de las entrevistas realizadas a los moradores del sector y guías comunitarios y un levantamiento de los recursos culturales, la biodiversidad y las tradiciones de las comunidades poblacionales que habitan el lugar. El estudio revela el perfil de los turistas que visitan la laguna Amarilla, por un lado, y los que ascienden al Altar por el otro. Se elaboró un inventario de recursos naturales capacitando a los moradores del sector sobre educación ambiental para que protejan los recursos naturales de la zona.PALABRAS CLAVE: Diagnóstico; turista; educación; medio ambiente; cultura.

    Tourism diagnosis of the Candelaria sector in the Sangay National ParkABSTRACTThe tourist diagnosis of the Candelaria sector was prepared with the purpose of including in the tourist proposal that is offered to the visitor all the natural, cultural, and recreational attractions not included in the current proposal and that could influence the number of visitors, both foreign and increase the tourism capacities of the sector. The diagnosis was made from the interviews carried out with the residents of the sector and community guides and a survey of the cultural resources, biodiversity and traditions of the population communities that inhabit the place. The study reveals the profile of tourists who visit the Yellow Lagoon, on the one hand, and those who ascend to the Altar on the other. An inventory of natural resources was drawn up, training the residents of the sector on environmental education so that they protect the natural resources of the area.KEYWORDS: Diagnosis; tourist; education; environment; culture.
