Diagnóstico situacional de los emprendimientos pymes como recurso estratégico del crecimiento de la economía

  • Los emprendimientos correspondientes a pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYMES) representan más de la mitad de los puestos de trabajo formales en el mundo. En el Ecuador la realidad no es diferente, los emprendedores constituyen un pilar estratégico para el crecimiento y el desarrollo económico del país; con la instrumentación del Plan Nacional para el Buen Vivir 2009-2013, se propone el establecimiento de un sistema económico, social, solidario y sostenible, propiciando la sistematización de estudios relacionados con estas PYMES en la búsqueda de alternativas para su inserción a las cadenas productivas, la transformación de la matriz productiva y la sustitución estratégica de importaciones. En el cantón Quevedo, la proliferación de estos emprendimientos, le han permitido convertirse en el principal centro comercial de la Provincia de los Ríos, haciendo necesario analizar los motivos por los cuales, las políticas públicas implementadas por el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado del Cantón, han sido insuficientes para solucionar los problemas que frenan el desarrollo de un gran número de pymes quevedeñas. Este estudio tiene como objetivo conocer los elementos que caracterizan la situación actual de la PYMES en el cantón Quevedo, mediante una revisión bibliográfica de los estudios más relevantes realizados por la academia y por la administración pública, se observa que no existen suficientes condiciones para garantizar el éxito de las mismas y las comunidades donde se encuentran.PALABRAS CLAVE: Caracterización de las pymes; Emprendimiento, Innovación; Productividad; Competitividad.SITUATIONAL DIAGNOSIS OF SME ENTREPRENEURS AS A STRATEGIC RESOURCE OF ECONOMIC GROWTHABSTRACTBusiness initiatives from small and medium companies (SMCs) contribute to more than half of the formal jobs in the world. Ecuador is not very different, where entrepreneurs constitute a strategic pillar that provides the country with effective solutions to growth and economic development; with the introduction of the 2009-2013 National Plan for Good Living, it is proposed the implementation of an economic, social, supportive, and sustainable system that promotes the systematization of studies related to these SMCs in the search for alternatives for their insertion into the productive chain, the transformation of the output matrix and the strategic substitution of imports. In Quevedo canton, the proliferation of these enterprises has allowed this city to become the main trading center of the Province of Los Ríos, making it necessary to analyze the reasons for the ineffectiveness of the public policies implemented by the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Canton in solving the problems that hinder the development of a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises. This study aims to know the elements that characterize the current situation of SMCs in Quevedo canton through a literature review of the most relevant studies conducted by the academia and government agencies.
