    El presente artículo tiene como finalidad resumir el desarrollo del proyecto de investigación llevado a cabo en la universidad UNIANDES durante los años 2015 y 2016 y cuyo título fue “Plataforma de Tele diagnóstico y la calidad de vida del adulto mayor en el sector rural de Tungurahua” el cual partió de la problemática que tiene el adulto mayor en cuanto sus dificultades para asistir a los Centro de salud para sus revisiones médicas preventivas, estas dificultades están relacionadas con su imposibilidad física y la falta de compañía familiar. En el proyecto se fundamentó los aspectos relacionados a la telemedicina, al tele diagnóstico y a la geriatría. La investigación de campo se la desarrollo en los sitios de la problemática es decir en la Universidad UNIANDES y en la zona rural de Ambato. En la Universidad se indago sobre el nivel de conocimiento que tienen los médicos sobre telemedicina y tele diagnóstico, a nivel rural se averiguo sobre las dificultades que tienen los adultos mayores para acudir a los Centro de atención médica. En la parte propositiva se logró la construcción de la plataforma tecnológica que consistió de un kit portátil de tele diagnóstico, un centro de telemedicina y una aplicación web para las fichas médicas. Como conclusiones se obtuvieron que los médicos docentes conocen muy poco sobre telemedicina y que la misma puede constituirse en un nuevo paradigma de servicio médico, especialmente en el ámbito de la geriatríaPALABRAS CLAVE: Tele diagnóstico; plataforma informática; tecnología; geriatría.

    TECHNOLOGICAL PLATFORM FOR GERIATRIC TELE DIAGNOSIS AT THE UNIANDES UNIVERSITY FROM AMBATO-ECUADORABSTRACTThe purpose of this article is to summarize the development of the research project carried out at UNIANDES University during the years 2015 and 2016 and whose title was "Tele diagnosis platform and the quality of life of the older adult in the rural sector of Tungurahua" which started from the problems that the elderly have as regards their difficulties in attending the Health Center for their medical check-ups preventive, these difficulties are related to their physical impossibility and the lack of family company. The project was based on aspects related to telemedicine, tele-diagnosis and geriatrics. The field research was developed in the problematic sites that is to say in the UNIANDES University and in the rural area of Ambato. At the University, we inquired about the level of knowledge that doctors have about telemedicine and tele-diagnostics. At rural level, we learned about the difficulties that older adults have to go to the Medical Care Center. In the propositive part, the construction of the technological platform consisted of a portable tele diagnosis kit, a telemedicine center and a web application for medical records. As conclusions were obtained that the teaching doctors know very little about telemedicine and that it can be a new paradigm of medical service, especially in the field of geriatricsKEYWORDS: Tele diagnosis; computing platform; technology; geriatrics.
