    En el presente artículo, además de reconocer la prioridad y necesidad de la Universidad ecuatoriana para incentivar el desarrollo de competencias investigativas, se hace énfasis en que ello es necesario para la formación de profesionales con perfil agropecuario que ayuden al desarrollo rural sostenible. De ese modo se fundamenta el carácter complejo del desarrollo de competencias investigativas como parte del currículo de formación de esos especialistas en la Escuela Superior Politécnica Agrícola de Manabí “Manuel Félix López” (ESPAM-MLF). Fueron utilizados métodos del nivel teórico de la investigación para proveer de los fundamentos que facilitan abrir la brecha existente en ese campo de estudios.PALABRAS CLAVE: competencias; competencias investigativas; perfil agropecuario.

    THE DEVELOPMENT OF INVESTIGATIVE COMPETENCES TO HELP THE SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT FROM AGRICULTURAL PROFILE CAREERS OF HPASM-MFL ABSTRACTThis article, besides recognizing the priority and the Ecuadorian University to motivate the development of investigative competences, the emphasis is made in that it is also a need to educate professionals from agricultural profile careers to help the sustainable rural development. In that way the complex character of the development of investigative competences is demonstrated as a base to include them as part of the curriculum of those specialists' formation at the Higher Agricultural Polytechnic School of Manabí “Manuel Félix López” (HPASM-MFL). Methods of the theoretical level of research were used to provide of the foundations that enable to open the existent fissure in that field of studies.KEYWORDS: competences; investigative competences; agricultural profile.
