    Se presenta un grupo de tres yacimientos descubiertos durante las obras de construcción del tramo Encina-Torrelavega de la "Autovía del Cantábrico" (A-8). Importantes lotes de industria lítica han sido recuperados en el sistema de terrazas fluviales conservadas en la margen izquierda del río Pas, a la altura de la localidad de Zurita. La posición estratigráfica y los caracteres tecno-tipológicos de las series permiten situar los hallazgos entre el final del Pleistoceno Medio y el final del último período interglaciar (estadios isotópicos 6 y 5, circa 190-89 ky B.P.), documentándose caracteres industriales compatibles con los tecno-complejos Achelense superior y Musteriense, sin que ello tenga un valor cronológico realmente.

    A group of three sites discovered during construction work in the Encina-Torrelavega section of the "Cantabrian Highway" (A-8) are presented. Important assemblages of lithic industries have been recovered in the river terrace system located on the left bank of the Pas river, near the village of Zurita. Their stratigraphic position and the techno-typological characteristics of the series allow us to date the lithic remains between the end of the Middle Pleistocene and the end of the last interglacial period (isotope stages 6 abd 5, circa 190-89 ky B.P.), with industrial characters compatible with typical features of both Upper Acheulean and Mousterian techno-complexes but these techno-typological features do not really possess chronological value.
