    Se exponen los resultados de una investigación desarrollada en el centro de Veracruz, México, con 25 campesinas organizadas en dos grupos de ahorro. Durante dos años se trabajó con ellas por medio de talleres, entrevistas en profundidad y ejercicios de observación sobre sus estrategias para sostener la vida en un sistema articulado que devalúa su trabajo, al mismo tiempo que las obliga a asumir una sobrecarga de responsabilidades. Se pone en discusión la categoría analítica de cuidados, por su capacidad para dar testimonio de la complejidad de las tensiones y contradicciones del contexto de estudio, y se propone mirar las estrategias con las cuales estas mujeres gestionan la reproducción del vivir en sus núcleos domésticos y entornos comunitarios.

    This paper presents the results of a research carried out in the center of Veracruz, Mexico, with 25 peasant women organized in two saving groups.

    During two years, we worked with them through workshops, in-depth interviews and observation exercises, on the strategies to sustain life in the midst of an articulated system that devalues their work, while mandating them to take on an overload of responsibilities. We discuss the analytical category of care because of its ability to account for the complexity of the tensions and contradictions of the study context and at the top of that we propose to look at the strategies with which they manage the reproduction of living in their domestic cores and community environments
